Here's a brief excerpt from this episode.
Everybody loves to travel. But for every fantasy of the perfect vacation lurks the very real possibility of a journey gone haywire. In this episode, our team of world-weary travelers recount bizarre tales including a 50 hour bus ride filled with racial tension, a poodle and a bottle of Perrier, a sixteen year old crusty, hippie-punk passed out in the Jamaican mud at the Reggae Sunsplash, a pathetic Xmas yarn featuring a Blues Brothers cover band and a bus stuck on a snowy mountain pass, and a mad dash from Sacramento to San Francisco in a car falling apart mile by mile. Hosted by filmmaker Danny Plotnick.
Guests include:
Anthony Bedard is a drummer and guitarist. He drummed for San Francisco’s legendary Icky Boyfriends, a band known to clear the room at lightning speed. He is currently playing guitar in the panic-skiffle rock combo known as Hank IV. Bedard also books The Hemlock Tavern, a San Francisco watering hole and rock club.
Jack Boulware, raconteur extraordinaire and chronicler of the depraved is author of the books Sex, American Style and SF Bizarro. He is co-founder of San Francisco’s annual Litquake literary festival, and is currently buried in a new book project, a history of punk rock in the Bay Area.
Natalija Vekic is a filmmaker and installation artist. She’s made the acclaimed short films Lost and Found and The Girl with The Pearl Suspended. She’s so fancy she was awarded the prestigious Princess Grace Award for filmmaking.
